Sandy began her teaching career as Learning Support Teacher at Oxford Falls Grammar School in 1994 and has worked extensively with students with learning difficulties individually and in small groups in both private and public schools and literacy centres ever since. As her own four children grew and became more independent Sandy began tutoring from home and as numbers increased the decision was made to move out of home and open Hands up Tuition in Mona Vale.

Sandy has attended and continues to attend countless training seminars, meetings and conferences on the topics of Teaching and Learning Difficulties. She has the necessary expertise and understanding to ensure that the needs of the children in her care are met.

She is passionate about helping children become successful learners and specializes in helping children acquire the skills they need to help them to become ready to learn. She believes in the importance of looking at the whole child.

Sandy works with Pre-schoolers to prepare them for a successful start at school, Primary School children and High School students up to year 8, specializing in acquiring the necessary skills to Read, Write and Spell. Sandy has four grown-up sons and is a grandmother of three.
